Blakelee Winn is one of the most accomplished high school athletes in recent memory in Northwest Arkansas.
A standout basketball, softball and track and field athlete at Pea Ridge High School, Blakelee has been in the spotlight for years. She is now continuing her athletic and scholastic career at Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, Kansas.
We look forward to following Blakelee‘s college career and wish her the best as she competes in track and field. Blakelee gave us some perspective on her sports career and personal life in this Next Level feature.

The Varsity Report:
What is your first memory of playing organized sports?
Winn:
My Mom and Dad coaching my first t-ball team.
The Varsity Report:
Which sports did you play when you were in elementary school?
Winn:
Softball, basketball, and started track in 7th grade.
The Varsity Report:
How has your family helped you in your competitive sports career?
Winn:
They have definitely been my biggest supporters throughout my career and I don’t know what I would do without them.

How did being a multi-sport star athlete at Pea Ridge help you transition into your college career?
Winn:
Having to go back and forth in multiple sports made me have to be versatile in training and able to adapt to different challenges.

How did your coaches at Pea Ridge help prepare you for competition at the high school level?
Winn:
They were always very understanding with the demands of being in multiple sports. My coaches worked together to ensure I could compete in each event/sport. I always had great trust that they had my best interest and the best interest of the teams in mind.

What is your best high school sports memory?
Winn:
Getting to graduate early with a few of my softball teammates because the state semifinal game was the same day as graduation, advancing to the state championship, then winning the Arkansas State Heptathlon a few days later.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
Winn:
I love hanging out with my family and friends. I also like to watch Netflix and take naps.

Winn:
College graduate, happily married, working in my field of study and traveling the world as much as possible.
