Where were you born and raised?
I was born in DeQueen, Arkansas but I grew up in Broken Bow, Oklahoma.
What sports did you play in high school?
I played football & track.
When did you know you wanted to be a football coach?
When I was in high school I knew how much influence my coaches had on me and I wanted to have the same impact on others.
Who has been your biggest influence in education and coaching?
Several of my coaches/teachers were big influences in my life but Tom Condict and Sue Willis made the biggest influence on me.
What has been your biggest coaching challenge over the last few seasons?
The rise of social media and commitment.
What is your coaching and leadership philosophy?
Do the little things right, everyone wants to focus on the big goals but if you cannot do the little things right the big things will never come.
When you are not coaching football, what are some things you enjoy doing?
Traveling with my wife (Ashlee), relaxing with friends and family and playing golf.
What is your advice to a young coach starting their career?
Work!! Get there early and stay late, coach like you want your players to play.
